Tenuta Ornellaia is located a few kilometers from the Mediterranean coast, at the foot of the hills near Bolgheri in Tuscany.
Le Volte IGT dell'Ornellaia is a wine of an intense ruby red to the eye that offers olfactory hints of black cherry, blackberry and ripe dark pulp fruit, enriched by mineral and spicy tones. Le Volte is a wine whose ideal serving temperature is 16-18 ° C.
The grapes used are 70% Merlot , 15% Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon . The vinification of the various vines was done separately in small steel tanks. The alcoholic fermentation is followed by the malolactic fermentation , always in steel tanks. The aging phase lasts 10 months partly in barriques , previously used for Ornellaia, the other part in concrete tanks, to obtain a perfect balance between tannic structure and fruity expression.
