In the Dolceacqua area, on the cliffs between the sea and the mountains, the Anfosso Estate extends for 4 hectares divided between Soldano, in the Poggio Pini area, and San Biagio della Cima, in the Luvaira area. It is managed by Alessandro Anfosso, an expert and mild-mannered winemaker, indifferent to fashions and intent on enhancing his territories, assisted by his wife Marisa.
Rooted on steep slopes, the vineyards are arranged in bands delimited by dry stone walls (built by Alessandro's great-grandfather) and can boast the presence of even very old plants, some dating back to 1888 which present themselves as authentic and beautiful monuments of nature. The two crus of Poggio Pini and Luvaira thus present themselves as real open-air theatres: a spectacle of rare beauty where nature collaborates with the tireless work of man, intent on maintaining a balance as suggestive as it is delicate. The grapes harvested here are taken to the small cellar in Soldano and the winemaking process is carefully supervised by Alessandro and his wife. Passion and craftsmanship characterize each phase, starting from the environment: the steel tanks are located in an old garage used as a cellar, while the aging and bottling room is located next to the house door.
