Description

This Rosso di Montalcino comes from 100% Sangiovese grapes in the renowned Cantina di Montalcino , a farm immersed in the green hills of Siena , which has been producing this famous wine with pure Sangiovese grapes for over 40 years.

Thanks to the selections in the vineyard first, and in the cellar afterwards, this interpretation of the vine is certainly the second most famous of the Montalcino denomination , a very elegant and sufficiently mature Sangiovese.

On the nose it is very fine and enveloping , with a clear hint of cherry and red fruits that give way to a spicy finish. On the palate it is intense and with a long persistence, with an excellent balance that does not tire .

Why you should drink it

This is a classic cut , elegant like the wines produced in this area of Montalcino between Castelnuovo dell'Abate and Sant'Angelo in Colle, but at the same time rustic, which breathes tradition .

A great Sangiovese in classic guise from an iconic terroir.

When to uncork it

This wine is a young red , which gives you the opportunity to uncork it as soon as it arrives home or wait until a few years and enjoy it with more development in the bottle.

On the table you can accompany tasty first courses with game sauces or grilled meats .

How to drink it

A little special tip: before uncorking this Rosso di Montalcino, keep it cool for half an hour , it is very interesting at a sparkling temperature.

Vinification and refinement

Traditional red vinification with a maceration period on the skins of approximately 18 days, maturation in oak barrels for 12 months and completes the refinement process with a few months in the bottle before being put on sale.

Territory

The winery is located in a small plot of land that unravels between Mount Amiata and the Orcia, Asso and Ombrone valleys , where the vineyards are surrounded by a truly evocative panorama , overlooking a hill among woods of holm oaks.

Soil

Soil rich in marine sediments and clayey sand .
