Description

Tenuta Ornellaia is located a few kilometers from the Mediterranean coast, at the foot of the hills near Bolgheri in Tuscany.

Le Serre Nuove is a blend of Merlot , Cabernet Sauvignon , Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot , which combines immediate pleasantness and taste-olfactory complexity with a proven aging potential.

The color is intense and young, the nose shows an intense and mature fruitiness, underlined by finely spiced and toasted notes. The mouth is round and silky, of great texture and harmony, with a succulent fruitiness that extends into a lively finish but devoid of any edge, cooled by delicate balsamic notes.

How to drink it

Le Serre Nuove is a wine whose ideal serving temperature is 18 ¬į C. Drink it in a large glass.

Vinification and Aging

Harvesting for the refined Ornellaia winery was done by hand in 15 kg crates and the bunches were selected on a double sorting table before and after destemming and subjected to soft pressing at the end. Each variety and each parcel was vinified separately. Alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel vats at temperatures between 26-30 ¬į C for two weeks, followed by maceration for about 10-15 days. The malolactic fermentation began in steel vats, and ended after the transfer to barriques (25% new and 75% second passage). The wine remained in barriques in the Ornellaia cellar at a controlled temperature for a period of about 15 months. After the first 12 months it was blended and then reintroduced into the barriques where it spent another 3 months. The wine remains in the bottle for six months before being launched on the market.
