Cinqueterre SciacchetrĂ  Doc 2021 Demi 0.375L - The Polenza

Description

The Cinqueterre SciacchetrĂ  Doc of La Polenza is a perfect representative for its category, it comes from Vermentino , Bosco and Albarola grapes, we are talking about a passito wine that tells a distant story, in fact the company has been operating in Corniglia for years and has continued to respect the traditions.

The drying of the grapes takes place in the open air facing the sea before being destemmed by hand and then pressed, this process serves to enhance the indisputable qualities it brings to the glass.

On the nose it presents nuances of candied apricot and citron, while on the palate we find the sensual structure and very fine tannins that intertwine with the fullness of flavor towards a finish of pure satisfaction.

Why you should drink it

The success of this SciacchetrĂ  does not derive only from its history but from its qualities that arise in a land where every grape costs effort.

The meticulous choice , the wait and the hard work to obtain high quality bottles with many beautiful surprises waiting for you!

When to uncork it

You can combine it with the traditional "Pandolce Genovese", as used in Liguria, otherwise I recommend it with cantucci and dry pastries , also excellent with mature and blue cheeses .

How to drink it

Take a glass and pour this Sciacchetrà DOC from La Polenza into it, I recommend serving it at 16°C .

Vinification and refinement

Obtained from selected Bosco, Vermentino and Albarola grapes, harvested ripe and dried on outdoor racks facing the sea, the grapes then ferment slowly without the addition of selected yeasts , remaining on the noble lees for 24 months .

Territory

A contained area, approximately 15 km of coastline with a difference in altitude of 700 metres, which includes land in the municipalities of Monterosso , Vernazza , Riomaggiore and partly La Spezia.

The vines are planted in the characteristic terraces created with landfill and supported with dry stone walls built by man with centuries of work.

Soil

The soil is loose , sandy , rich in skeleton .
