Description

Louis Roederer 's Champagne Brut "Cristal" is an undisputed icon of luxury and excellence!

The grapes that go into the composition of this prestigious cuvée , which have made its name famous throughout the world , come from vineyards classified 100% in the crus scale , harmoniously distributed among the noblest areas of Champagne, all owned by the from the Roederer winery and is made with the Champenoise Method of great charm and elegance.

Excellent body and intensity , soft , creamy and enveloping , interwoven with complex buttery scents of dried fruit and sea salt .

Why you should drink it

Just think that in the year 1876 the Tsar Alexander II , a lover of Louis Roederer's Champagnes, asked the latter to elaborate a cuvée for his personal use. Louis then proposed a transparent crystal bottle in which to elaborate the best selection of the 7 crus of his Domaine.

And this Champagne derives from that bottle , in fact the name "Cristal" derives from that transparent flat-bottomed bottle, crystal at the time, used by Roeder. A Champagne that has made history and will surely continue to make it.

When to uncork it

This Champagne has been defined by Italian and international critics as one of the best expressions of Cristal ever , a fantastic wine to be enjoyed to experience a great story but also to combine it with fish-based dishes , from first to second courses, without fear.

To enjoy it at its best, I suggest you let it 'breathe' at least 15-30 minutes before pouring it into the glass.

How to drink it

To be uncorked while still fresh , at a temperature of 10°-12°C .

Vinification and Aging

Produced with the Champenoise Method , called Classic Method in Italy, with refermentation in the bottle , aging on the lees for 72 months and 8 months in the bottle after disgorgement.

Territory

The Champagne wine region is what is called the "vineyard of hills" : the vines are mostly planted on the slopes of the hills. The sides of the coteaux offer each vine an optimal exposure to the sun , allowing rainwater to run off, thus facilitating water drainage.

Soil

The composition of the soil is mainly made up of limestone , chalk and marl . Gypsum has the property of retaining water by capillary action and its high porosity is a reservoir of water which gives the plant an adequate supply even during the driest summers.
