Description

"La Syrah" by Tenuta Lenzini is a Tuscan red produced in the area of the Colline Lucchesi, which is made with 100% Syrah grapes , the large red grape variety originating from the Rhone Valley which has settled well on the sunny and windy hills of this corner of Tuscany.

A beautiful version of this French variety, strictly produced with biodynamic agriculture techniques , in fact Lenzini pursues the idea of making healthy and genuine wines , produced in harmony with nature and the surrounding environment in order to highlight the varietal character of the vines and the influence of the terroir, with minimal intervention in the cellar.

The nose opens up with aromas of small dark berries , undergrowth, Mediterranean scrub herbs, ink, graphite and spices, while in the mouth it is rich and smooth , with dense aromas, a tannic texture in the right relief.

“We breathe and work in this territory” , these words from Benedetta and Michele are enough to make you understand that this is a sincere and unpretentious wine , we are in the presence of a great Syrah, where quality is sought and obtained without compromise.

When to uncork it

Do you have guests for dinner and do you want meat? Then this is the right bottle. Uncork this wine whether the menu includes meat-based first courses or red meat second courses .

If you want to try something special I recommend you try it with a nice mushroom risotto!!!

How to drink it

Being an artisanal wine I recommend you uncork it and let it 'breathe' at least 15-30 minutes before tasting it, serve it at a temperature of 18°-20°C .

Vinification and refinement

Vinified entirely in wood , with a long refinement, it is a red that well expresses the seductive aromatic richness of the Syrah vine , the fermentation takes place in tubs and tonneaus, with the use of only indigenous yeasts , before being bottled, the wine rests for 24 months in large French oak barrels and tonneaux.

Territory

We are on the green hills of Lucca, in the small town of Gragnano , here we find the 13 hectares of vineyards corresponding to the name of Tenuta Lenzini, founded in the 16th century and originally belonging to the famous Arnolfini couple, portrayed in the famous painting by Van Eyck, now exhibited at British Museum in London.

Soil

Meticulous attention to the cultivation of the soil, which does not undergo synthetic treatments, copper and sulfur are used only as strictly necessary.
