The Langhe Nebbiolo of the Chicco company is a great Piedmontese red produced with 100% Nebbiolo grapes , grown in the Costa area in the municipality of Castagnito , suited for the production of Nebbiolo of great finesse and elegance.
The nose has very elegant aromas , with notes of violet and morello cherry. In the mouth it is delicate, full and aristocratic .
â We have chosen to make wine starting from the territory â are the words of the current owners of Cascina Chicco, a more than valid reason for those who want to taste a sincere and traditional Nebbiolo.
This is a pure wine that goes very well with various dishes, roasted game and red meats , it is also interesting to try paired with aged cheeses .
Serve it at a temperature between 18-20°C .
Maceration takes place in steel fermenters in which the fermentation temperature can be adjusted and lasts approximately 4-5 days. Subsequently the wine rests in 600 liter oak barrels , in which the malolactic fermentation takes place, for 8-9 months before being reassembled in steel tanks before bottling.
The vineyard where this Nebbiolo is produced is called " Mompissano " and is located in the province of Cuneo , precisely in the municipality of Castagnito.
The soil is mainly clayey-limestone .
