Description

The " Matarocchio " was born from the desire to create a wine in Guado al Tasso that was the maximum expression of a single variety and a single parcel of vineyard, in fact it is obtained from Cabernet Franc grapes vinified in purity . This wine has great aging potential , dense and voluptuous, surprising in its organoleptic complexity.

It contains an articulated olfactory bouquet , with mentholated notes, hints of cocoa, ripe plum, tobacco and toasted coffee. In the mouth it is energetic and enveloping , vibrant but at the same time silky in the tannic texture , long persistence and balsamic on the finish.

Why you should drink it

You don't even have to ask, because this is THE great Bolgheri red .

The Matarocchio Tenuta Guado al Tasso is a wine of extraordinary caliber , like no other.

When to uncork it

This is one of those bottles that take the evening to the next level, to be chosen in combination with red meats or game .

Ps Being a great red you can also enjoy it alone , so you can discover all its facets.

How to drink it

Uncork and let the wine breathe for at least an hour , to be served at a temperature of 18°-20°C .

Vinification and Aging

The grapes are harvested by hand, followed by a soft pressing and a cold pre-maceration , followed by the start of the alcoholic fermentation.

The wine is then transferred to new French oak barrels where it completes the malolactic fermentation and ages for 18 months. The wine then rested for the next 12 months in the bottle before being released on the market.

Territory

We are located on the coast of the Upper Maremma , about a hundred kilometers south-west of Florence , in a splendid plain surrounded by hills known as the '' Bolgheri amphitheater '' due to its particular shape.

Soil

The soil is rather heterogeneous and is mainly composed of alluvial soils, sands , pebbles , clays and silt , with the presence of skeleton .
