Description

Angelo Gaja's Barolo Docg Dagromis takes its name from the Gromis family who, in the 19th century , owned a prized vineyard in the municipality of La Morra; today the winery creates its Barolo DOCG from that same vineyard, obviously with 100% Nebbiolo grapes .

An iconic wine with the aristocratic aromas of Nebbiolo, made of withered flowers, violet and liquorice, cherry and raspberry, a crescendo of aromatic herbs and, in the background, a mineral soul. In the mouth it is a real triumph , tasty and substantial , it has still young and scratchy tannin and a long fruity persistence that reveals balance and softness .

Why you should drink it

This Barolo is a historical label from the Gaja winery , furthermore, to respect this historicity, the wine is the result of traditional vinification without pretenses or modifications .

A Barolo made properly and with indescribable quality.

When to uncork it

Excellent to drink immediately, but can evolve very well in the cellar , acquiring even more intriguing nuances. For a perfect pairing I recommend you accompany important dishes such as red meat or game .

Do you want a killer match? Try it together with dishes with black truffles , you will thank me.

How to drink it

Uncork the bottle and let it 'breathe' for half an hour , serve it at a temperature of 18-20°C .

Vinification and refinement

Traditional vinification conducted in steel containers. The refinement lasts 12 months in barrique , followed by a further 18 months in large oak barrels which frame this red which, like all the wines offered by Gaja, is powerful, very rich and suitable for long ageing, identifying itself more than never in the family philosophy.

Territory

The vineyards are cultivated in the municipality of La Morra , in the province of Cuneo , precisely in the same context of rolling hills and breathtaking views where the Gromis family cultivated in the past.

Soil

The soil is marly and calcareous , with clay infiltrations, medium compact.
