What is the secret to GAJA's success?

According to Angelo Gaja, the secret lies in proposing wines of the best possible quality, accompanying quality with an enhancement of the heritage of historical denominations, using the synergies that the territory of origin of the wine expresses, therefore trying to integrate the wine with the territoriality.

Furthermore, a concept very dear to the company is that of maintaining an artisanal spirit, using only grapes from its own territories and not missing the important presence of the family, whose members leave their own characteristic mark on the wine produced.

Finally, an artisan company must establish its optimal size, for years GAJA has had 100 hectares of vineyards and from here they have decided not to go any further, in order to always keep every aspect of their production under control.

The artisan is the one who puts something "of his own" into making wine and this concept is very well expressed by GAJA in its Barbaresco Docg , a wine with immense richness and expressiveness.

This Barbaresco is obtained from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, grown in the well-known Piedmontese municipality, here the bunches are selected with obsessive care, all coming from 14 owned vineyards located where the yields are extremely low, a typical characteristic in the Gaja house.

Another great pearl of the GAJA winery is the Barolo Docg Dagromis , a wine that takes its name from the Gromis family who, in the 19th century, owned a prized vineyard in the municipality of La Morra.

From that same vineyard and a percentage of grapes coming from the Serralunga d'Alba cru, the Gaja family creates its Barolo DOCG, a 100% Nebbiolo grape which, although coming from two different terroirs, manages to blend perfectly creating an iconic wine .
