Chianti Docg Virgin Of The Rocks 2019 - Leonardo Da Vinci Cellars

Description

The Chianti DOCG Vergine delle Rocce "I Capolavori" by Cantine Leonardo Da Vinci is produced from Sangiovese (85%) and Merlot (10%) grapes with the addition of a small percentage of other red grapes (5%).

This wine is the son of the "Leonardo Method" which exploits the intuitions of the Renaissance genius both in the treatment and harvesting of the grapes and in the cellar, the nose releases hints of cherry and small red fruits which are combined with spicy notes of black pepper, in the mouth it has a good structure , on the palate it reveals soft tannins and an intense fruity taste that persists in the finish.

Why you should drink it

Because like the other products of this winery it bears the name of Leonardo da Vinci and just like him in the glass it brings true Tuscan character , noble and genuine .

When to uncork it

Uncork it during one of the great evenings with friends , at the table it goes well with cured meats and semi-mature cheeses as well as with land dishes based on red meat or game .

How to drink it

Uncork the bottle and let the wine breathe for a few minutes , serve it at a temperature of 14-16°C .

Vinification and Aging

The ripe grapes are left on the skins for about 10-12 days , followed by fermentation at a controlled temperature, furthermore short but frequent pumping overs take place and the technique of bleeding was used to increase the noble polyphenolic richness. Aging in French and American oak barriques for 10 months .

The vineyards are located in the hilly area of Vinci , Cerreto Guidi and neighboring municipalities, a magnificent panorama that encompasses all that is Tuscany.
