Description

Cave Vinicole de Hunawihr presents this very interesting Vin d'Alsace Riesling , produced with Riesling grapes, a vine known as an absolute protagonist of viticulture in central Europe and in particular in the Rhine valley.

The Riesling grapes are processed in purity , harvested and selected only by hand, this Alsace Riesling Réserve by Hunawihr has intense and complex aromas that fully express the typicality of the vine: yellow flowers, citrus fruits, kiwi peel and a mineral finish that announces a next hint of hydrocarbon, exactly oil or kerosene, typical hints of evolved rieslings .

Really savory , almost chalky taste with a very tasty acidity that creates an elegantly balanced gustatory structure, bordering on lightness but lengthening into a persistence saturated with character and liveliness.

Why you should drink it

Because this Alsace Riesling Réserve from Hunawihr is the perfect expression of this Alsace grape variety .

Pleasant , sweet and with a surprising minerality ! One might wonder, rather, why not give it a try.

When to uncork it

Hunawihr's Alsace Riesling Réserve is a very versatile and easy to drink wine: that typical wine that you bring out on an important occasion , but that you can enjoy with different combinations, so to speak.

Its combinations can in fact vary from crustaceans , poultry , baked fish to pork main courses: in short, you just need to eat abundantly and drink.

How to drink it

The best temperature to drink it is 8-10 °C .

Vinification and Aging

The temperature-controlled fermentation took place at around 17 °C for 3 weeks with local yeasts from Alsace.

The wine was then aged on its fine lees in stainless steel tanks for 3 months before being carefully filtered . Malolactic fermentation was not allowed.

Territory

Cave Vinicole Hunawihr is located in the heart of Alsace , a few kilometers north of Colmar , in one of the most prestigious and historically rich French wine regions.

The area is kissed by a perfect climate for vines. The Vosges massif blocks the perturbations that come from the west, guaranteeing a mild, sunny climate with very low rainfall.

Soil

Valuable soils of predominantly calcareous matrix, the soil is heterogeneous and very suitable, consisting of a mix of granites , schists , limestones and clays .
