Description

Moscatello di Taggi a is an ancient Ligurian vine , a clone of white Moscato , which takes on even more aroma and softness in Liguria.

The color of Moscatello is intense straw yellow with golden reflections. On the nose the aromas are the varietal ones of mature Moscato , yellow fruit and citrus, with a slight note of tertiary aromas. In the mouth it has an aromatic impact, with the subsequent appearance of the light structure typical of the variety and good acidity. It is completely dry.

Why you should drink it

Because this wine was already famous in 1400 even in Northern Europe, among the nobles and even at the Pope's court.

Now we don't want to insinuate anything about anyone, but even if the Norsemen enjoyed it, why not you !?

And to think that it was a wine that had been lost, but that the Liguria Region, in collaboration with the University of Turin, wanted to bring back to the market.

So, if the Region and the University have mobilized to make us drink such goodness, why not do it?

Furthermore, obviously to maintain quality and tradition, "limited edition" bottles are produced: you have the opportunity to buy one now, why lose it?

When to uncork it

Moscatello di Taggia is certainly a wine that should not be wasted.

Wait for the right occasion, special people and only then uncork this bottle: combine it with slightly seasoned cheeses or not too seasoned first courses to have a winning combo!

How to drink it

The best serving temperature we recommend is around 10-14 ° C.

Vinification and Aging

The grapes are harvested early in the morning in 15 kg crates which are immediately taken to the cellar and pressed. After soft pressing , we carry out a classic fermentation in white at a controlled temperature and with a refinement on the lees for at least 5 months.

Territory

The Moscatello grapes come from the vineyard in Beusi, in the province of Imperia in Liguria.

Soil

Predominantly calcareous clayey soil.
