Description
The " Bramito della Sala " is produced by the Antinori family in the land adjacent to the Castello della Sala, an ancient medieval castle built in 1350 by supporters who came to Italy with Charlemagne with the aim of conquering Orvieto.
This "Bramito della Sala" is a Chardonnay vinified alone , a small jewel produced since 1994 within this satellite estate which year after year has conquered the critics .
It has a bouquet with delicate aromas of ripe exotic fruit, accompanied by citrus sensations. On the palate it is elegant and structured , with good acidity and a pleasantly savory finish.
Why you should drink it
Because with this label Antinori once again confirms the quality of its products and provides an excellent interpretation of the class and elegance that Chardonnay is able to express within the Umbrian terroir .
When to uncork it
This Chardonnay is perfect to accompany first courses of Mediterranean cuisine , also excellent with vegetable risottos and stewed white meats .
How to drink it
I recommend, keep it in a cool place , serve it at a temperature of 8-10°C .
Vinification and Aging
The bunches are destemmed and crushed , after which they undergo a short maceration of 2-4 hours, after which the musts are transferred partly in wood and partly in stainless steel vats, where alcoholic fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature. Only the parcels vinified in barrique undergo malolactic fermentation and age for 5 months.
Territory
Bramito della Sala is produced in Umbria , a short distance from the border with Tuscany, about 18 kilometers from the historic city of Orvieto .
Soil
The soil tends to be clayey , calcareous , rich in fossil shells, with vineyards well exposed to sunrise and with excellent temperature ranges.
