Barolo Docg 2017 - Prunotto
In the vast Piedmontese wine scene Cantina Prunotto certainly occupies a place of great importance, wisely managed by the Marquises Antinori , one of the most important brands in Alba.
This Barolo di Prunotto is produced in purity from an autochthonous red berried vine which, within the Piedmontese Langhe, reaches memorable qualitative peaks, Nebbiolo, this vine gives the bottle a very high quality and an incredible aging potential .
Beautiful olfactory depth with hints of ripe cherry and blackberry, violet, chocolate, vanilla, sweet licorice, coffee and medicinal herbs. In the mouth it is energetic and warm , with dense tannins, good acidity and a long woody persistence.
Why you should drink it
Because this wine is the result of the excellent work carried out by the Prunotto team, a cellar owned by one of the most important Italian wine families, the Antinori.
Furthermore, among the many advantages, this bottle also has that of being able to be "forgotten" in the cellar, so as to provide a new and complex experience.
When to uncork it
This Barolo is perfect to combine with game , aged cheeses , roasted or grilled meat. I also recommend it with tagliolini with truffles or a nice cut of fassona beef .
How to drink it
Uncork it and let it breathe for at least an hour, serve it at a temperature of 18°-20°C.
Vinification and Aging
Fermentation in steel with 10-day maceration , malolactic fermentation and 24-month aging in large oak barrels of different capacities, finally 12 months in the bottle.
We are located in the areas of Monforte , Castiglione Falletto and Serralunga , in the very heart of the Barolo production.
The soil is predominantly marl , known as Sant'Agata.
