Sicilia Rosso Doc La Segreta 2021 - Planeta

€10.00

Description

The Planeta winery , Sicilian excellence, has called this wine "La Segreta" taking up the name of the forest that surrounds the Ulmo vineyard .

A young and fresh red wine obtained mainly from Nero d'Avola grapes with the addition of style and personality of international grapes expertly cultivated in their own vineyards.

La Segreta is a wine that is ruby red with clear purple reflections, the nose expresses beautiful aromas of cocoa, tobacco and fresh fruit. Mulberry, plums and slightly mentholated balsamic notes emerge. On the palate it is characterized by a soft and mature tannic texture, well integrated with a certain freshness and a nice alcoholic structure. It closes with a finish of good persistence on the fruit.

Why you should drink it

If you want to approach Sicilian wines , La Segreta is for you: a fair value for money, enriched by the patient work of the Planeta family.

When to uncork it

La Segreta - Red is the wine that keeps you company always and in any case.

A trusted friend suitable for the most diverse occasions.

Enjoy it with typical Mediterranean dishes: meats, vegetables or even fish! Get creative. Drinking it will still be a party.

How to drink it

La Segreta Il Rosso is the typical wine to drink at 16-18 ° C so that it performs at its best.

Vinification and Aging

At the end of August the grapes are harvested. De-stemming is followed by 7-14 days of permanence on the skins at a temperature of 25 ° C, after racking takes place aging in steel.

Territory

From the sea to the hill, up to an altitude of 400 meters, the territory of Menfi is home to the largest extension of the Planeta winery's vineyards : they cultivate over 250 hectares, making precise choices to adapt the vines - native and international - to the specificities of the individual terroirs.

Soil

The valley was once crossed by a river, while today it has become Lake Arancio.

This helped deepen the soils, with an abundant skeleton made up of pebbles. The higher soils are instead more calcareous and clayey. The slope guarantees perfect drainage.
