Basilisco's “ Teodosio ” Aglianico del Vulture DOC is a red wine produced with 100% Aglianico grapes , it takes its name from a Byzantine emperor, a Basileus , whose effigy has become the symbol of the company.

This "Teodosio" is a beautiful expression of a historic vine from southern Italy, a product much appreciated by red wine lovers thanks to its strong character and intense taste, the nose opens with aromas of wild berries and sour plum while on the palate it is well balanced giving a full and persistent sip.

How to drink it

Uncork and let the wine breathe for just a few minutes , serve it at a temperature of 18-20°C .

Vinification and Aging

Fermentation and maceration in steel tanks for 15/30 days , maturation lasts 10-12 months in second and third passage French oak barriques . Aging in bottle for at least 12 months .

Territory

The vineyards are located in the Barile area, in the province of Potenza , facing south, south-east at an altitude of about 500 meters above sea level.

Soil

The roots sink into a fabulous volcanic , tuffaceous and clayey soil .
