Sicilia Noto Rosso Doc Zisola 2020 - Marchesi Mazzei

Description

The Sicilia Zisola dei Marchesi Mazzei was born in the homonymous estate, located in south-eastern Sicily , an area with a strong wine-growing vocation so much as to have given rise to the Nero d'Avola vine with which this wine is produced in purity .

With a fantastic ruby red color, the nose offers hints of berries and aromas of ripe citrus while in the mouth it is full- bodied and structured , complex and layered, characterized by a good persistence and an excellent closure.

Why you should drink it

Simple, because this is a harmonious and balanced wine but also with character , a bottle that contains all the essence of the corner of Sicily from which it comes .

When to uncork it

Excellent to accompany first courses with meat sauce or red meat in general, but if you really want to surprise, combine it with spicy fish soups or grilled vegetables .

How to drink it

Uncork it a couple of minutes before serving , the recommended temperature is 16-18°C .

Vinification and Aging

Strictly hand picked , followed by 14-16 day fermentation and maceration . The wine is then aged for 10 months in partly new French oak barriques before being bottled.

Territory

We are located near Noto , a splendid corner of Sicily , where the vines for this wine are trained in the " alberello " style.

Soil

His is of limestone origin .
