Description

The Vermentino DOC of Podere Grecale is based on the best terraces to express its potential: warm temperate climate, sun, wind and proximity to the sea. Moreover, it is the first wine of the company, the one with which it all started.

It has a pale straw yellow color. On the nose the aromas are of white fruit, wild flowers, scents of Mediterranean scrub, minerality and citrus hints. In the mouth it is fresh and savory, completed by an elegant and highly drinkable structure.

You must know that Vermentino from Liguria is an ancient wine, made of old traditions.

Starting from Spain, it crossed southern France and finally arrived in Italy: right here, in Liguria, the first Vermentino grapes were grown.

Vinification and Aging

The grapes are harvested early in the morning in 15kg crates. After the soft pressing we carry out a short cold maceration before fermentation , which takes place in steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The aging on the lees is at least 5 months, until bottling.

Territory

The Vermentino grapes come from the vineyards in Madonna della Guardia, Lone and Bussana.

Soil

Predominantly calcareous and clayey soil.
