Description

Pigato RLP DOC is the prince of Ligurian wines and the one that most represents the typicality of Liguria: its origins are uncertain but the most recent studies identify it as a clone of Vermentino which in Liguria has differentiated itself from the original vine , finding ideal conditions in the innermost areas of the Ligurian Riviera di Ponente.

The color of the Pigato is a light straw yellow with greenish reflections. The scent is intriguing and fine, with white flowers and hints of minerals and Mediterranean scrub. In the mouth it is fresh and savory, full and with a light almond finish typical of the variety.

Why you should drink it

Because this wine has uncertain origins, but it knows where it wants to go.

In short, the Pigato is really a beautiful story: it is said that it is the "copy" of Vermentino that has been able to adapt to the innermost areas of the Ligurian Riviera di Ponente and today it is cultivated and recognized exclusively in the province of Imperia and Savona. Doesn't that seem incredible to you?

That something starts from nothing and becomes an excellence? Who knows if sipping it they won't tell you their story for themselves!

When to uncork it

Desire of sea? No problem, you are in the right place!

If you have this urgent need to catapult yourself into a typically summer scenario, where the waves are the background and the sun setting over the sea is the setting for your dinner, then this bottle is the right one!

No, we will not give you a ticket to Liguria together with this wine, but Liguria will reach you wherever you are!

Pigato is the prince of Ligurian wines and can only be accompanied by dishes from its land: try cooking two trofiette with pesto, or if you prefer a second course based on sea bream or Ligurian sea bass! Then even better if you prefer to give yourself to crustaceans, molluscs or slightly aromatic dishes ... Go and try as many combinations as you can, to discover the thousand shades of this incredible wine!
